Ramos calls Van Gaal

Sergio Ramos has called Louis van Gaal to reassure him he’s still interested in joining Manchester United, according to reports.

Ramos’ future is up in the air at present after stalling on a contract with Real Madrid, and telling the club he wants to move to Old Trafford.

Things has changed in recent days with Madrid refusing to sell and new talks over a deal, but Don Balon says Ramos has called Louis van Gaal to say he’s still keen on signing for the Red Devils.

It comes amid speculation that Van Gaal is looking at other options for centre back, including Valencia’s all-action Argentine Nicolas Otamendi.

Madrid want £63million at least to sell Ramos and while United are so far refusing to pay that, more negotiations could bring about a successful conclusion to this saga.

Pedro rejects Arsenal Move in Favour of Chelsea

Pedro has reportedly been persuaded to join Chelsea over Arsenal by Cesc Fabregas and Jose Mourinho.

The Barcelona winger is considering his future following Arda Turan’s arrival at the Camp Nou, with a move to the Premier League undestood to be among his favoured options.

Arsenal and Liverpool are believed to have made approaches for the 27-year-old, but according to Sport he has agreed to join Chelsea after Mourinho and Fabregas convinced him to do so.

Pedro’s main issue with the move was believed to be his lack of English, but Fabregas has reassured him that it won’t be a problem due to the amount of Spanish speakers in the Chelsea dressing room.

Having agreed a deal with the player, Chelsea will now be able to secure the move by meeting his £21.6million release clause.

Schneiderlin completes United Medical

Manchester United have agreed a fee with Southampton for midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, Goal can confirm.

The Frenchman underwent a medical at Carrington on Sunday and the deal should be official announced imminently, when he will become the latest big-money arrival in Louis van Gaal's summer overhaul.

Goal revealed that the Red Devils were pushing for a deal in June and have now met Saints' asking price, with the club hopeful he will be included in their squad for the upcoming tour of the United States.

Arsenal and Tottenham have both shown an interest in the 25-year-old in the past 12 months, but it is United who have won the race for his signature.

Schneiderlin will become the Red Devils' fourth summer signing after they completed deals to bring in Memphis Depay and Matteo Darmian as well as agreeing a fee with Bayern Munich to add Bastian Schweinsteiger to their squad.

Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin will battle with the likes of Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera and Juan Mata as United look to improve on their fourth-place finish in the Premier League last season.

Schneiderlin played a key role in the Saints qualifying for the Europa League last term as he scored four goals from midfield in his 26 league appearances.

Southampton are reportedly keen to replace the outgoing midfielder with Jordy Clasie after Feyenoord revealed he would not be playing any pre-season matches due to "concrete interest" from another club

Why Robin Van Persie left Man United

Louis van Gaal is no stranger to confrontation and it appears he may be the main reason behind Robin van Persie’s exit this transfer window.

The Dutch boss reportedly forced his compatriot to train on his own, leaving the striker feeling betrayed.

RvP will now join Fenerbahce in a £4.7million deal after being ordered to train on his own while the rest of his team-mates took part in a training match at Carrington on Tuesday.

At that moment, the 31-year-old knew that his time with the club was over, according to the Mirror.

Soon after, the Dutch attacker told his agent to accept a lucrative three-year deal with the Turkish giants.

Despite his new £240,000-a-week pay packet, there is a sense of humiliation behind his departure.

The pair were close after enjoying a successful World Cup together with the Dutch national side.

But van Persie felt that van Gaal deliberately humiliated him by delivering the instruction in front of his team-mates rather than giving him a private meeting.

LvG is never one to allow sentiment to cloud his judgement and his brutal disposal of one of his closest colleagues is testament to that.

We will listen to offers from Madrid

Espanyol willing to negotiate with Madrid for Casilla - Collet

The Espanyol president insists Los Blancos' first offer was so small that his side refused to enter any talks with them, but admits they are willing to do so

Espanyol president Joan Collet says the club are willing to enter talks with Real Madrid over Kiko Casilla if they improve on their initial offer.

The Spanish side are looking to bring the goalkeeper back to the Santiago Bernabeu after it was confirmed that Iker Casillas will leave to join Porto.

Casilla's release clause with the Catalan side is €20 million, though Madrid will only have to pay half of that because they own 50 per cent of his rights.

However, the club chief revealed on Twitter that an initial €4m offer from Madrid had been rejected, before telling reporters that he is still open to discussing a transfer with Los Blancos if they make a better offer.

"There has been nothing else from Madrid and the €4m they offered is very little value to the player and the club," he said. "It is a very small figure. If the offer does not change, will not sit and talk with them.

"These clauses are rarely respected. We like it that way, we are open to negotiation.

"We have not negotiated with Madrid, we have not put variables or anything similar on the table.

"He is a player who has played at international level and can do so again."

Real Madrid confirm Casillas to Porto

Real Madrid confirm Casillas to Porto deal

The Spanish goalkeeper ends a 25 year period at the Santiago Bernabeu in order to join the Portuguese side
Real Madrid have confirmed that long-serving captain Iker Casillas will leave the club for Porto.

The goalkeeper had been linked to a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu for some time, with Madrid looking to sign Kiko Casilla from Espanyol and pursuing Manchester United's David de Gea.

The World Cup winning shot stopper had reportedly already agreed personal terms with the Portuguese side, but failure to break from his contract at the capital club was holding the deal back.

Now, though, Los Blancos have revealed that a deal has been struck that will see him bring an end to a glorious career in La Liga.

"Real Madrid and FC Porto have reached a deal on the transfer of Iker Casillas to the Portuguese club," a statement on their official website read.

"The greatest goalkeeper in the history of the club and in the history of Spanish football is moving on to a new stage in his footballing career.

"This goodbye evokes thousands of sensations and memories charged with hope, anticipation, sacrifice, strength and unique triumph.

"Casillas has made our coat of arms even greater. He has been our captain and has forged his legend here since he arrived as a child at just nine years of age.

Manchester United to Resign Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester United are ready to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid next season, according to reports.

Madrid are currently evaluating Ronaldo’s future at the club and it’s claimed that they’d consider letting him go – but not until next season.

Paris Saint Germain are sniffing around a deal, but the Daily Express says United are ready to rival them and hope to do business.

Madrid are thought to want about £66.5million for their leading light, who would be 31 next summer and approaching the twilight of his career.

Ronaldo has previously refused to rule out returning to Old Trafford in the future, but any move would be absolutely incredible

Manchester United eyes De Gea Replacement

Manchester United have opened talks with Atletico Madrid to sign goalkeeper Jan Oblak, according to reports.

United are on the lookout for a top class goalie with David De Gea edging closer to joining Real Madrid.

A host of names have been linked in recent weeks, but Atletico’s Oblak appears to be their choice, with AS reporting that talks are now underway over a transfer.

The 22-year-old enjoyed an incredible debut season in La Liga last term following his move from Benfica.

Atletico will only do business if United pay Oblak’s release clause which is set at £32.3million.

The news comes after Bastian Schweinsteiger signed earlier today.

Louis van Gaal had previously confirmed that he would have a medical at the club so the move comes as no great shock.

The Italian international is known for his ability to attack in the full-back role.

Torino announced that they had sold the player outright and thanked him for his time there.
