Manchester United are holding out for a
£35million bid from Real Madrid for David
De Gea and insist the ‘keeper will stay at
Old Trafford this summer unless their
valuation of the 24-year-old is met.
Spanish newspaper AS claimed yesterday
that the Red Devils had lowered their asking
price from €46million to €35million but
United officials are understood to be
unwilling to accept anything less than a
world record deal for a goalkeeper,
according to reports.
De Gea is entering the final year of his
contract at Old Trafford and wants to join
the La Liga giants this summer in order to
replace Iker Casillas.
However, with Madrid yet to open the
bidding for the stopper, the two clubs’
valuation of the Spaniard will have to get
considerably closer if a deal is to be made.
