Southampton have terminated the contract
of their £14.6million record transfer signing
Dani Osvaldo.
The Argentine striker only appeared for the
Saints 13 times following his move from
Roma in 2013 before being shipped back to
Italy with Juventus on loan for headbutting
now club captain Jose Fonte in a training
ground bust up.
Osvaldo failed to find form during yet more
loan spells with Inter Milan and Boca
Juniors has resulted in his permanent
departure from Saint Mary’s.

An official statement on the club website
read: ‘Southampton Football Club can
confirm that it has terminated the contract
of striker Dani Osvaldo.
‘The Italian international, who has not
played for the club since January 2014,
yesterday completed a loan spell with
Argentinian club Boca Juniors.’
The deal as a whole is expected to have
cost the club up in excess of £25million as
they decide to cut their losses with two
years still remaining on the Italian
internationals current contract.
