Wenger wanted Poldoski to stay

The Germany international is set to move to
Turkish giants Galatasaray, but his representative
has revealed that the Frenchman was keen to
retain the 30-year-old
Arsene Wenger wanted to keep Lukas Podolski at
Arsenal but the forward is set to join Galatasaray ,
according to his agent.
The Germany international revealed on Wednesday
that he is keen to complete a move to the Turkish
giants , having spent the majority of last season o
loan at Inter Milan and is expected to sign a four-
year deal.
His representative, Nassim Touihri, says that
Wenger attempted to convince Podolski to remain
at the Emirates Stadium, but has confirmed a mov
is now imminent.
“We had very good talks with Wenger,” he told
Bild. “He wanted to keep Lukas, but couldn’t give
him a guarantee that he will be starter. That’s wh
we agreed on a transfer.”
Podolski has made 82 appearances for Arsenal
since joining the club from FC Koln, scoring 31
goals.
