OFFICIAL : Southampton signs Martina

The Curacao international, who can play as a
centre-back or right-back, has signed a two-year
contract at St Mary's and is looking forward to
working with Ronald Koeman
Southampton have confirmed the signing of
defender Cuco Martina from Eredivisie giants
Twente on a two-year deal.
Martina, 25, is a Curacao international who can
play at centre-back and right-back and along with
fellow summer signing Cedric Soares will help fill
the void created by Nathaniel Clyne's £12.5 million
move to Liverpool.
“I’m very happy to be here at a big club like
Southampton," Martina told Southampton's official
website. "I’ve followed Southampton now for two
years and I see they are now a big club.
“I know Ronald Koeman and Erwin Koeman – I
worked with Erwin for one year and everything was
good. He knows my qualities and I know what he
wants.
“It was a dream for me to play in the Premier
League and finally I can play now. I hope to play
many games and show the fans who I am.”
