David De Gea has been told to put Real Madrid out
of his mind and get ready to go on pre-season
tour with Manchester United.
Louis van Gaal is understood to have told De Gea
his focus must be on United, despite the
uncertainty over his future, with the Spaniard
having refused to sign a new deal with the Reds.
De Gea has also been told he will be going on
United’s two-and-a-half week tour of the US, with
Van Gaal’s squad jetting off on Monday, unless
Real meet the asking price of £35m.
The Spaniard has also been told to be professional
and honour his pre-season commitments with
United, despite his desire to return to his
homeland after four years at Old Trafford.
De Gea touched down in Manchester in the early
hours of Monday and will go through the pre-
season tests and fitness programme with the rest
of United’s squad as normal.
