Dick Advocaat has confirmed Sunderland have
made him an offer to stay on as head coach -
and says he will give his answer next Thursday.
The Dutchman, 67, guided the Black Cats to
Premier League safety with a game to spare
having taken the reins on March 17, replacing
the sacked Gus Poyet.
Advocaat said he would take in to consideration
the wishes of his family before accepting any
offer and also highlighted the need for an influx
of new players
. Advocaat, who has twice managed the
Netherlands as well as Rangers, PSV, Belgium,
Russia and most recently Serbia, led Sunderland
to three wins and three draws in his eight games
in charge this season.
Also unclear is the future of Inter forward
Ricardo Alvarez after his season-long loan at the
Stadium of Light, but Advocaat dismissed
speculation the club have already prepared a
£5m bid for Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton.
