Martinez after Porto reportedly rejected a
transfer bid from Atletico Madrid.
The Colombian forward is believed to be on
Arsene Wenger’s radar ahead of a move, so
the news will be welcomed in north London.
Martinez, 28, has apparently been told by
Porto he can leave in the summer, and the
Gunners are weighing up a £25.7million bid
for him when the Copa America ends in
July.
Wenger is very keen to strengthen his
attacking options at the Emirates, but he
may be forced to splash the cash if he
pursues the Porto striker.
