Munich, clearing the way for Manchester
United to make a move for the midfielder.
The German international has just 12
months left to run on his current deal at the
Allianz Arena, and according to Bild, he will
not be offered an extension.
Louis van Gaal is known to be in the market
for a deep-lying midfielder, and United
could now look to complete a deal for
Schweinsteiger on the cheap in light of his
contract situation.
Bayern are also understood to be keen on
signing on United winger Angel di Maria,
and may insist on a swap deal if
Schweinsteiger is to go the other way.
