Chelsea striker Diego Costa reportedly
wants to make a shock return to Atletico
Madrid because he doesn’t like London.
Costa joined Jose Mourinho’s side for
£32million last summer, and adjusted to
Premier League football unusually quickly,
hitting 20 goals in his first season.
Despite that impressive start, Spanish
newpaper Marca claim Costa has been
unable to settle in England to such an
extent that he is willing to take a pay-cut to
return to Atletico.
It’s reported that the Spaniard’s problem is
not with the club or Mourinho, but with the
English weather and lifestyle, which has
made him yearn for a return to Madrid.
The 26-year-old is extremely unlikely to be
allowed to leave Stamford Bridge before his
contract expires in 2019, but Filipe Luis –
who joined Chelsea with Costa last summer
– could be permitted to re-join Atletico.
