Friendship key to MSN :Messi

The Argentina international believes the success o
his partnership with Luis Suarez and Neymar owe
a lot to the relationship they enjoy off the
field
Lionel Messi says the friendship Luis Suarez and
Neymar enjoy off the pitch has been key to their
success on it.
The Barcelona trio have hit a record-breaking 120
goals between them season, eclipsing the 118
scored by Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim
Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain in the 2011/12
season to become the most devastating front thre
in football history.
Messi puts their down success down to the
wonderful rapport that he and his fellow South
Americans have built up since Suarez's arrival
from Liverpool last summer and says that his two
team-mates have played a key role in him
rediscovering his very best form.
“We three get along really well, not only on the
field but also off it too," the Argentina international
told the Times of India . "I think that if you get
along well off the pitch, it makes things easier on
the pitch.
“There is an understanding between us which
makes it look so easy, but there is a lot of hard
work behind it.
“Last year, I had an inconsistent season. I was ou
for a long time due to injuries and I missed a lot
matches.
“When I returned to the field I never felt right. 201
was a year I tried to forget quickly and recovered
my best form thanks to the joy, hard work and
effort that I have always had. Thankfully, now I fee
very good.”
Barcelona go into Saturday’s Champions League
final in Berlin as favourites to secure a famous
treble having already won La Liga and the Copa d
Rey, but Messi believes his side have a huge task
to break down their Italian opponents, who are als
coming off the back of a domestic double.
"It's a Champions League final, so we have to go
through a lot because we know it is not easy to
become champions again,” the four-time Ballon
d'Or winner added.
“Our dream is to win it all. We know that we will
face a very tricky opponent Juventus are very
strong, a big team. It is a final and anything can
happen, but we will prepare and approach it as we
have approached other finals before.
“Juventus like us have had a great season winnin
the league and cup in Italy. Moreover, they have
reached the final by beating a strong Real Madrid
team.
“They have some great players like Carlos Tevez,
Andrea Pirlo and Paul Pogba. Defensively they will
be a tough team to crack.”
