I will get my chance: Hernandez

The Mexico international believes Louis van Gaal
would be more open to playing him next season
but added that he would be more than happy to
stay at Real Madrid
Javier Hernandez is confident he will get a chance
to play for Manchester United next season as
speculation mounts over his future.
The Mexico international is due to return to Old
Trafford this summer after spending a season on

loan at Real Madrid, where he scored eight goals
in 31 appearances in all competitions.
Louis van Gaal is set to overhaul is attacking
options in the coming weeks, with United having
declined to take up their optiont to permanently
sign Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie's futur
uncertain.
And Hernandez believes the Dutchman will be
willing to give him more opportunities next seaso
should he return to Old Trafford.
When it was pointed out that Van Gaal let him
leave last summer, Hernandez told Marca : "But th
circumstances were different - Van Gaal arrived
and wanted to restructure the squad, make it
smaller.
"There was no European competition and he
wanted to concentrate on the league and maybe h
didn’t want so many players because they were
not going to be able to play.
"Now the situation has changed. There will be a
Champions League qualifier, a lot more games an
I think that there will be more opportunities. I thin
I will have chances to play at United."
Hernandez insists he would be very happy to stay
at Real Madrid on a permanent basis - but only if
he gets more first-team opportunities.
"What I want is to go to a team where I can play
and have minutes," he added. "If it’s Manchester
United or another, I will also be happy. That’s my
priority above all else.
"Real Madrid had a date by which they could
exercise the right to buy me and they let it pass.
Now they’re like any other club and right now I’m
a Manchester United player. That’s the only
reality."
When asked how he would react if new Madrid
boss Rafa Benitez were to call him, Hernandez
replied: "If he did I would be delighted, but it’s all
about playing, that’s what every footballer wants. I
it’s not like that, I would look for a team where I
can do that."
