Klopp finds Premier League very exciting
The former Borussia Dortmund coach's agent say
his client is is open to the idea of joining a club i
England, but would prefer to work under a sportin
director
Jurgen Klopp finds the Premier League "very
exciting" and would like to work under a sporting
director in his next job, according to the coach's
agent Marc Kosicke.
Having called time on a seven-year spell in charg
of Borussia Dortmund, Klopp is now one of the
most coveted out-of-work coaches in Europe,
though he confirmed at the start of June that he
will take a short break from the game.
The 47-year-old is widely respected in England as
a result of his achievements in Germany and
Kosicke admits his client is tempted by the
possibility of coaching in the Premier League.
"The Premier League is very exciting," he told
SPOX. "And we do not only think about the top
four because there are some other great clubs
below them. But I am not sure the profile of the jo
could work.
"In Germany there is a clear separation between
manager and sporting director and I think in
principle this is very good. Jurgen does not like t
speak to player's agents or to carry out a transfer
So we have to see which is the most useful
arrangement."
Kosicke also insists Klopp is willing to consider
clubs outside Europe's traditional elite if he feels
he can build something special there.
"It is always all about the challenge," he
added. "When Jurgen signed for Dortmund there
were other clubs who had better prestige and wer
in better financial mood at this time. Nevertheless
he decided for Dortmund.
"He has the great ability to develop things. If he
goes into a stadium, feels the energy and thinks
that he can make a difference here this could be
more attractive to him than going with the big
deals and aim for the treble."
