Maradona want to be Fifa vice president

The football icon says he could be appointed at
world football's governing body should the
Jordanian Prince succeed Sepp Blatter
Diego Maradona says he has a chance of
becoming Fifa vice-president if Prince Ali bin al-
Hussein wins the election to succeed Sepp Blatter.
The Jordanian stood against Blatter in the recent
Fifa presidential election, but failed to prevent the
Swiss from winning a fifth term. However, after a

series of arrests in relation to corruption charges
across world football's governing body, Blatter
announced four days after the election that he will
be standing down.
The development means Prince Ali could stand
again when new elections are held closer to the
turn of the year and Maradona says he could be
given a role in the organisation and insists he will
rid it of corruption.
"I can be the Fifa vice president if Prince Ali wins,"
he said on Show del Futbol. "If I do, I'll
clean everybody.
"Prince Ali and I got 73 votes, which has not
happened at Fifa for many years."
The 54-year-old added that he feels Blatter
decided to resign quickly after the election because
he was scared of being named in the corruption
charges.
"I think Blatter was scared that the FBI and Swiss
police would come and arrest him at Fifa
headquarters," he added.
