Thomas Vermaelen ordered to give back Champion's league winner medal

Thomas Vermaelen appears to have been
the victim of an elaborate troll by UEFA –
after the ex-Arsenal man was reportedly
ordered to give back the Champions League
medal he ‘won’ with Barcelona.
Despite playing precisely no minutes of
European football last season, the Belgian
still picked up a Champions League medal,
and even went up to collect it before Luis
Suarez and Neymar got theirs.
But it appears that Platini and co. have just

been playing a cruel joke on him, as reports
in Belgium claim that Vermaelen has been
ordered to give his medal back, presumably
on the grounds that he definitely didn’t
deserve one.
The decision caps off a disappointing
season for the 29-year-old, with Arsenal
also being denied an extra £2.9million from
Vermaelen’s sale due to him spending most
of last season not playing football.
Still, at least he won La Liga and the Copa
Del Rey…b
