The Red Devils have been linked with a remarkable
number of players since the end of the 2014-15
season but which individual should they be
concentrating on more than any other?
When it comes to deciding which player
Manchester United should target more than any
other this summer, you have to wade through a
whole host of individuals given the job that Louis
van Gaal has to turn the Red Devils into title
challengers.
Though the former Barcelona coach made
improvements to the team during the 2014-15
campaign, he requires more new faces if the 20-
time English champions are to add to their
remarkable trophy cabinet in 2016.
It is no secret that United are keen to bolster their
defensive ranks as Van Gaal tries to make them
more difficult to beat and Sergio Ramos has
emerged as a primary target ahead of Nicolas
Otamendi amid reports that he is to turn down
Real Madrid's latest contract offer.
Meanwhile in midfield, Borussia Dortmund's Ilkay
Gundogan continues to be linked with a move to
England despite rumours of Barcelona's interest
while Bastian Schweinsteiger could yet swap
Bayern Munich for Manchester.
There is also a vacant striker's role at the club
following the decision not to offer a contract to
Radamel Falcao and Harry Kane remains the man
to whom Van Gaal wants to turn - and Ed
Woodward is prepared to put together a €70
million package to lure him from Tottenham.
Kane might not be the only man moving north
from White Hart Lane this summer, with Hugo
Lloris earmarked as a potential replacement for
David de Gea if the Spain goalkeeper joins Madrid.
