EXCLUSIVE: The Brazil international has hailed the
Premier League champions as speculation linking
him with a move to London is set to be reignited
Brazil international Douglas Costa says English
Champions Chelsea and their coach Jose Mourinho
are among the best in the world.
The Shakhtar Donetsk forward revealed he had
contact with the Premier League club over a
potential switch to London earlier this
year.
And with Mourinho reported to be ready to bolster
his attack this summer, Douglas Costa is once
again being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge
- though the five-time Ukrainian Premier League
champion says he remains focused on achieving
more success with his current club.
"The subject has been discussed a lot in recent
months. Chelsea are one of the great teams in
Europe and Mourinho is one of the best coaches in
the world," he told Chevrolet Brasil Global Tour.
"But all I want to think about right now is giving
my all here at Shakhtar. That is all I am thinking
about right now."
The 24-year-old joined Shakhtar from Gremio in
2010 and made his international debut in
November's victory over Turkey.
He has remained a part of Selecao ever since and
will join Dunga's squad at the Copa America in
Chile next month.
"Being the first official competition after the World
Cup, the Copa America might end up increasing
expectations on us," he added.
"But we cannot be there thinking only about that.
We must do our work properly. If we do so, we will
succeed and have a good chance to win the Copa
America."
Brazil face Mexico on June 7 and Honduras on
June 10 as the Chevrolet Brasil Global Tour returns
to Brazil for the first time since last year's World
Cup.
The Selecao open their Copa America campaign on
June 14 against Peru in Temuco.
