Manchester United look set to lose David De
Gea with negotiations over a deal with Real
Madrid in their ‘final stages’, according to
reports.
Madrid have apparently made De Gea their
top transfer priority this summer, with new
manager Rafa Benitez keen to get him
signed up quickly.
And now Marca claims a deal is close, with
United ready to accept Madrid’s offer of
£18.3million plus £3.6million in potential
bonus payments.
It means a final figure of £21.9m for one of
the world’s best goalkeepers, meaning
Madrid would get one of the biggest
bargains in years if it happens.
De Gea’s contract at United expires at the
end of next season and he’s already said to
have rejected an extension.
